Vladzimir Prashleutos: Traditions after the War

Categories: Holidays and traditions, Vladzimir Prashleutos

Each nation has its own traditions. I wasn’t told anything about traditions. And there was a cemetery over there – you see – in the March 8 Street, there is a waste land there now. There were monuments there. Those monuments were destroyed than. And those monuments are placed not far from the synagogue, near the club, our former club. You will see the name, everything. The Jews came from this, how it is called, Israel, and walked around. Well, these stones are still lying over there. Who will reconstruct it? May be there will appear a person who will reconstruct it. At the Soviet times they planned to build a stadium in the place of cemetery, but later they came to their senses. Say, how is that they will be running here… at the cemetery. They only took stones for the foundation because they were nicely hewn, that’s it.
