E-museum "Vitamemoriae" has been presented in the framework 58th International Scientific Conference of Daugavpils University
On 15 April 2016, in the framework of the 58th International Scientific Conference of Daugavpils University, at the plenary session devoted to the 95th anniversary of Daugavpils University “In Anticipation of the 95th Anniversary of Daugavpils University”, Professor Maija Burima, the leader of the Project “Popularization of the Centres of Oral History in the LV-BY Cross-Border Area” (Nr. LLB-2-143) under Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus Cross-border Co-operation Programme within European Territorial Cooperation Programme, presented the e-museum “Vitamemoriae” developed in the framework of the project.
M. Burima informed about the application possibilities of the audio-visual materials included in the museum “Vitamemoriae”, emphasized the significance of oral history testimonies of the population in the cross-border region in preserving the collective history, pointed to the e-museum as an essential source for the characterization of peculiarities of the border region and told about the possibilities to use the e-museum in the process of studying history, cultural history and contemporary culture. The possibilities to use the resources of the e-museum “Vitamemoriae” in the development of economic products were discussed. In conclusion, M. Burima told about the e-museum site as a platform for the implementation of a number of other projects related to the preservation of history of the city, the district and the region.
Among the guests of the plenary session there were: Jānis Dukšinskis, First Deputy Chairman of Daugavpils City Council; the representatives of Embassy of Sweden, the representatives of “Axon Cable”, high-tech cable assemblies and fittings manufacturing company, as well as Latvian and foreign lecturers and researchers.
