Tatiana Nikolayeva: German commandant's headquarters

Categories: Mode of life, Tatyana Nikolayeva

The Germans from the commandant's headquarters spoke some Russian, some German. Their cook was from Check Republic, there were the Germans there, and they changed each other; those who have been at war they saw a true war. There was a boy of 14 years old, so a German came up and hugged him, pressed to heart and told, «I have the same son». SS-men were like this. And sometimes our policemen were worse. We didn’t have them, but the people told us.
