Lev Shlyakhter: Concerts in Magadan

Categories: Holidays and traditions, Lev Shlyakhter

Artists came to our town. For example, Pyekha was paid 80 rubles, other ones were paid 60 or 70 rubles, it depended. It is per concert, besides they paid travel expenses, per diems and so on. Pyekha came about 8 times to our town. Well, she needed ivory, blue foxes, black and brown foxes. They gave them lots of fur items and they left. And we all at the factory were taken money for the concerts, they told us that they didn’t want to come as the travel was very expensive for them, and that they earned little money, they gave three or five concerts at most. And that’s all; they went away as the concert halls were not big.
