How much money needed to bespenton schoolin ginthose days?

Education was free. I grew up in a poor family. I went to school in sandals. I studied fine. With the help of a good school director received from the State Prize – boots. It was barren (from bast)boots. Not black and yellow. They were not even painted. I was very glad that I have boots. For that, I called the school Botian.

When I was 12 years old, from our school selected four best students, including me. We were taken to Vilnius. Then it was the Polish city. There I first saw talkies. We did not even have this. Showed electrical lamp. There first tasted ice cream.

I remember one interesting point. We were brought to the cemetery. There was a large black marble slab (monument). Beside her stood four soldiers in the guard of honor. On the stove was written: Mother and son heart. In this tomb was buried mother of President of the Republic of Jozef Pilsudski. And after the death of his heart was buried there beside his mother’s feet. Monuments protected by a guard of honor... That's what I remember from this trip.

What year was it?

1938.
