Oh, joyfully, oh, very joyfully. I grew up already, I was a young lady already. I did already. Also I had elder sisters. Now twelve and thirteen years’ girls dance. Go to the disco. And I went to the disco very late. We lived joyfully. The youth went to the disco singing songs. We used to dance till the morning. We were going home when our parents were already firing the furnace in the morning. They had already got up. And we were still coming back singing songs. At the disco the harmonist finished playing, we sat down and sang. We were singing and it was joyfully. We lived joyfully. We had holidays, different religious holidays. So we visited each other, and invited each other. That’s that. We guested, and served the guests round. Not like nowadays, of course. Well, we cooked pancakes, soaked them, tabled butter and cheese. Well, if sometimes there was fried bacon it was good. So we served the guests round like this and sang songs. When you came out in the evening you could hear songs on one side, on the second side, on the third side, there were songs everywhere. And now…nobody could see the drunk anywhere at that time, but nowadays… Nobody drank so much. You see. We lived very joyfully. Well. The people. And the youth, and the elderly people, and also those who had their own families lived joyfully. Well. And the people were much kinder, and helped each other. We were four girls in the family. Well. There lived three uncles. Well. Very close to us. And at that time if our father or mother came and said, «Oh, poor Symon, he hasn’t finished cutting the rye. Hey, kids, run and help him to cut it, take the sickles, run quickly and help him!» Or for example, it was going to rain and there was hay, they asked us, «Hey, run, take the rakes, and help them to rake the hay there or something else!» People were much more warm-hearted then they are nowadays. Well.
