Did the fairs take place in Gnyazdzilava?

Yes, they took place near the … churches.

What holiday was that?

It was the most ... civil holiday. St Peter’s day. We had oh… lots of these holidays. I don’t know them very much now. But the best one was St Peter’s day. The entire village celebrated it and lots of people moved in together, there were lots of people. They all came by horses. They were going by horses. All the roads were rattling. They organized feasts, celebrated how they could. Someone came to the relatives, someone was a stranger. Then we were having fuzzbuzz. I remember that. Well.

And when the guests came what did you table?

Well, everything someone had. It depended what someone had. At that time we stuck the pigs, we had cured pork fat, we didn’t buy cured pork fat for relatives. It wasn’t like nowadays … that… we ate what we bred. We slaughtered calves, and the wild boars were killed. So they ate. You see.
