Farm in Orkovichy

Categories: Family, Eugenia Begetskaya

What kind of farm did you have in Orkovichy?

So what did we have: a horse and a pig – and that’s all. We also kept hens, sheep… We sowed rye, and we sawed flax, we took them in the harvest ourselves. We planted ourselves, and we also had horses.

Did you have a dowry?

Long time ago a dowry was the following: a cow and that’s all. When our father was getting married, he took to wife a stepmother for us; as he had three children he was given a cow but he had his own cow at that time. That was a treasure.
