Antоnina Radzetskaya: About school

Categories: School, Antonina Radzetskaya

What city did you go to school in?

Well, over there, in Smolensk region, in Krasnaznamya.

How many forms did you complete in school?

Four. I completed four forms. Later on we moved away because we had to make the way like that – you see, as long as the way to Agarodniki, we had to go through the forest. When you finished four forms later you had to cover three kilometers every day. After that… the relatives used to meet us on the road, because sometimes you could be robbed or beaten. Oh, sometimes we started such fights. When I studied the guys from Agarodniki were going to school. Well, we moved to Bryansk oblast. There were all my father’s relatives. Three sisters of him, four sisters. They all lived under one roof, so we took on room there. Later my mother came here, but I had been living there for two years more.

At that time we were made to finish regular school or go to night school. Oh, I remember that Garchakou, I have a picture of him, the director of the night school he taught history, something else, probably geography. If you didn’t have a job you cannot attend the night school, you had to work and go to the night school.
